Branding Photo Shoot Series: How to Prepare for Your Branding Shoot
Have you ever considered a branding photoshoot? Not only do you to get beautiful, branded content for your business, you’re also supporting local photographers! Here’s a basic outline to help you prepare for your branding photo session:
The Month Before
Plan your outfits and shop for additional pieces. Pick a collection of seasonal pieces to give variety for content you can use year-round. Don’t forget to match your brand when choosing colors and styles!
Create a Pinterest mood board with inspiration for backdrops, props, and outfits, and then share the board with your photographers.
Start scoping out locations for the session. Look for areas with a variety of looks within a small geographical area that fit your branding and will be timeless and workable for all seasons. Keep your brand aesthetic in mind as well - don’t look for brick walls if your style is light and airy!
The Week Before
Lay out all the outfits and photograph them together to decide which outfits for each location.
Finalize the photographers and let them know where each location fits on the schedule.
Clean any clothing and gather up your props. Running around the morning of your photo shoot is stressful.
The Day Before
Pack food, water, and extra hair and makeup products for touch ups. You’ll be changing outfits multiple times throughout the day so you’ll likely be grateful for those touch up items.
The Day Of
Eat a good breakfast, enjoy a hot shower, and get ready for a fun day of photography.
