Bronte + Taylor Formals | Silver Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon

I am so excited to share Bronte and Taylor’s photos on the blog today. Bronte has been one of my longest friends in the wedding industry, and she’s an incredibly talented florist. She's been in the business for a while, so she knew exactly what she wanted for her own wedding florals. Lots of color, texture, and flowers! I haven’t photographed her wedding yet, but we did a pre-wedding session up at Silver Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon, and these photos are STUNNING. Of course, Bronte designed her own flowers. I am completely obsessed with her jewel-tone color palette, and the way that the florals capture your attention. Bronte’s sister, Quin, is actually a wedding dress designer, so she made her a custom wedding dress. How cool is that!? Two seriously talented wedding creatives in the same family. It is awesome!

When I asked what kind of location the couple had in mind, they said that they wanted some fall colors but also a location that could look seasonless. This makes it so that you have plenty of options when printing photos to decorate your home with. We ended up choosing Silver Lake. This location provides enough gorgeous aspens and fall foliage to give off some color but is also surrounded by more seasonless evergreen pines. After taking portraits by Silver Lake, we chased the sunset to the top of Guardsman Pass for some breathtaking mountain views and soft, golden-hour colors. We were all freezing and went through many hand warmers but the view was totally worth it.

I also have to give a shout-out to Bronte’s fiancé, Taylor, and his luscious locks. Even though our session was crazy windy, he totally had the GQ look, and his hair was amazing the whole time. I am so honored that Bronte and Taylor asked me to capture this milestone in their lives. Bronte has been talking about Taylor for years and years, and they make the most stunning couple. I am completely obsessed with these Utah mountain formals, and I can't wait to photograph their wedding day!

xoxo
