Christopher + Amber Sealing | Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah

If someone asked me to talk about the most special moments I’ve ever experienced as a wedding photographer, probably more than half of them would be memories from this day with Christopher and Amber. Amber served a mission in Utah, so the Salt Lake City Temple was especially important to her and her family, leading to her leaving behind the beautiful fall North Caroline weather for what was an incredibly rainy day at Temple Square.

But you know what? You wouldn’t believe the many ways this rainy day was so so perfect for these two. I don’t think they even noticed the rain because they were just so happy! They had such an incredible glow about them, so in love they were, and it truly shows throughout these photos after their sealing ceremony. I will always recommend my couples who are just doing a sealing ceremony at the temple take the time to get a few husband and wife pictures with their photographer, even if you’ve already had bridals or formals done. There is just a special kind of “just married” love that really shines through, lending nicely to some of the best smiles and eye twinkles you’ll ever get in your pictures.

A few more “bonuses” from this magical day: the fall leaves and beautiful colors at Temple Square held out, and I’m convinced it was especially for these two. Also, the rain meant that fewer tourists and visitors were clambering about Temple Square leaving us to take advantage of all the incredible picture locations without having to wait.

One final beautiful aspect of this day was that Christopher’s son, Zach, who is serving a mission in Orem, Utah, was able to get special permission to leave his mission boundaries that day and attend his father’s sealing in the Salt Lake City Temple. Truly, it was a marvelously magical day, as evidenced by the sheer joy and happiness in these photos.
