How to Choose Meaningful Accessories for your Wedding Day Ensemble

The accessories you choose for your wedding day are not only a beautiful accent to your outfit, but also provide a unique way to express deeper meaning to those who helped and loved you along the way.

While there are many options to choose from, here are some excellent and beautiful examples for your wedding ensemble.

Bridal Bouquet

The classic bouquet is an excellent way to subtly express yourself through color, flower choice, and accent plants. When designing your perfect bouquet, think about birth flowers, ribbon colors, charms, or even lace. Each of these accent pieces is an opportunity to be creative, original, and expressive. Whether it be a favorite flower, a meaningful color, or even a simple lace, your bouquet can be an extension of your beauty.

Veil

While there is not an infinite variety to a veil, you still have plenty of options to choose from. From a birdcage veil just covering the eyes to a long and dramatic cathedral-length veil, you have the freedom to choose and personalize.

Hair Accessories

Whether a dramatic or minimalistic hair design is desired, your hair is a blank canvas waiting to be painted. Bows, tiaras, ribbons, and pearls can all be used to set yourself apart from other brides. For the more traditional brides, a small decorative hair accessory is a great way to incorporate something new, old, or borrowed as well.

Necktie

Formal dress in suit and tie allows for more subtle forms of expression, where the majority of the outfit is black & white, a splash of color on the lapel, neck, or cuff really adds another level to any outfit. The necktie being the primary source of color and variety, explore colors and textures that stand out.

Often it is possible to repurpose older ties into skinner and modern tie styles if desired.

Boutonniere

Much like the bouquet, the boutonniere has special meaning to all those involved in the groom’s wedding party. The special guests that receive a boutonniere to accent their wedding attire will be especially grateful and honored to be involved.

Think about flower type, accent color, just as the necktie can serve as a splash of color and originality, a brightly colored petal or ribbon will go a long way.

Cufflinks

Although the French cuff shirt is not as common as the traditional button cuff, an elegant set of cufflinks will be sure to bring another level of sophistication. This is a perfect opportunity, where possible, to include an antique or family heirloom set into your wedding ensemble

Pocket Square

Whether you are wearing a dark or light-colored suit on your wedding day, a pocket square adds another level of elegance and originality. The pocket square should accent the tie and suit color while not matching exactly.

With these accessories, you’re sure to bring another level of beauty and sophistication to your ensemble. All while incorporating family heirlooms, something old, borrowed, or blue!
