Vendor Spotlight: Blushing Rose Floral

Do you ever meet those business owners where you’re just blown away by their talent and creativity? I’ve had the pleasure of working with Sarah from Blushing Rose Floral several times and I couldn’t wait to interview her about her business and her passion for floral design!

Today, I wanted to share a highlight of that interview and let you see all the amazing qualities Sarah possesses that make her a great choice for your wedding day florals!

As a little girl, Sarah remembers watching her father bringing in flowers to give to her grandmother. The emotion behind this sweet gesture established her love of flowers not only for their beauty but for the strength and support they represent. “Flowers lift us up in our darkest times, and celebrate with us in our brightest,” Sarah says.

Sarah went on to study horticulture in college and she worked in a greenhouse growing flowers to be planted all across campus, further cementing her passion for florals. As her passion grew, she started designing floral arrangements for high-profile events, which eventually led to her building her own business. Now she works with amazing brides all year long to incorporate beautiful fresh flowers throughout their wedding day!

I asked Sarah about the process of working with her. She said that while florists are not usually the first vendor a bride books, she still recommends reaching out to them early, or at least 3-4 months before your wedding. “As with anything in life,” Sarah says, “It’s best to do a little research on your own before meeting with your florist.” This makes your time together when you meet for a consultation so much more productive if you already have a general idea of what you need or the things you like.

After an initial consultation with Sarah, she’ll put together a custom mood board and proposal for her potential clients. She’ll include pictures that showcase the style and aesthetic of the florals needed to make sure she and the bride are on the same page. She’ll also include a breakdown of the costs associated with each piece. “I find it so much easier to prioritize and make decisions when you have an itemized breakdown of what each item costs,” Sarah says. I love her dedication to her clients, making sure they have all the information they need to make confident decisions and wedding day choices.

Now, as a photographer, I feel like I have a unique perspective on the wedding day when it comes to florals. I asked Sarah if there was anything she, as a florist, wished brides knew. Her top tip matches one of my own -- learn how to hold your bouquet for photos. It’s so important! Your photographer should be able to guide you to capturing the blooms best, but not all of them will think of it right off the bat as they’re also making sure you and everything else look your best! I think I’ll share our shared thoughts on this topic in a future blog post because it’s so golden!

I loved learning more about Sarah and her business. Be sure to check out Blushing Rose Floral if you’re looking for a florist near Utah County and take a look at this cute gal in these photos I captured of her in her element!
