This is the list of specific equipment I have in my bag and take to photo shoots with me. Tech is always changing but this is what I currently love and use often!

I cannot rave about this camera enough. I was on the fence for years but am so happy I finally made the switch to mirrorless!

My tried and true favorite DSLR camera with gorgeous colors. I’ve used this camera for years and love the results.
canon 28-70 2.0
A recent purchase that’s changed my workflow on the wedding day. This lens is on my camera 80% of the time.
canon 70-200
If you’ve ever photographed a wedding ceremony, you know how crucial it is to have a long lens. I use this for portrait sessions and wedding days.
canon 50 1.2
Get that creamy background without having to be too far away from your client. I love this lens for receptions!
canon 85 1.4L
My go-to portrait lens for sessions. It will compress the background and flatter your clients!
canon 100 macro
The best macro lens for the gorgeous ring shots and flat lays. Use it to get in super close for all the little details.
battery grip
Mirrorless cameras go through batteries SUPER quickly. That’s why I love this addition which holds an extra camera battery for the R5.

Name brand is crucial when it comes to battery life. Make sure you’re using the best so you don’t have to change batteries as often.

The speedlight I’ve been using and loving since 2022. It’s radio triggered, has TTL, and is ideal for wedding photographers.

The Sony equivalent of the Godox V1 and my favorite flash for any Sony photographers.

The Nikon equivalent and my favorite flash for any Nikon photographers (I like it even more than Nikon-branded lights).
MagSphere 2
I will rave about this product till the day I die. It’s THAT good and that necessary for wedding photographers.
magbounce 2
The bigger sister of the MagSphere, this modifier is ideal for using at outdoor receptions or with very tall ceilings.
maggrip 2
The essential connector between your speedlight and your modifier. You need one for each on-camera flash you use!
Godox v1 gels
Gels allow you to neutralize the white balance in your images and help your flash look natural. These ones only work if you have a round Godox V1 though!
light stand
A sturdy light stand is CRUCIAL for photographing events. The taller the stand, the further your light can spread across the room.
connector
Use this essential tool to connect your speedlights to your light stand. Your umbrella will attach to this as well. You’ll need one per stand.
DUAL connector
This allows you to place a second speedlight on your stand which is ideal when you have a second shooter. This is the connector I use at every wedding!
33-inch umbrella
Perfect size for smaller indoor venues or portrait sessions. I have two just in case!
