What to Expect During Each Wedding Season

When selecting a wedding date, there’s more to consider than merely your and your betrothed’s dates of availability. Consider the location where the two of you intend to swap rings. There are so many components regarding your wedding that can fluctuate depending on the time of year it is held. So whether you’re anticipating a destination wedding or one here in Utah, it’s important to recognize how seasonal changes can impact your wedding plans.

Weather

Whether you’re superstitious or even a little-stitious, (Name that quote!), rain on your wedding day is never ideal. Depending on the time of year that your wedding is held, the odds of sunshine illuminating your nuptials may not be in your favor (Did you catch that? We’re at it again with the quotes). Like the majority of other states, the off-season for weddings runs from January through April. Coupled with the weather, this is largely due to the volume of engagements that tend to erupt throughout the holidays (October-December). Many couples that fit in this category utilize the drearier months for wedding planning with the intention of tying the knot the following year in fairer weather (May-September). This is especially great if you are hoping for an outdoor ceremony here in Utah. You have a seemingly unlimited number of pristine outdoor locations to choose from! During these months, you can count on the vast greenery and vibrant flowers that Utah loves to flaunt. For those with intentions of marrying in the off-season, bank on lots of browns outside..but you might get lucky with a dusting of fresh snow! During these months, we suggest selecting venues with great architectural details for your engagements, bridals, and even wedding photos. Other great options include water or desert locations whose scenery is seemingly perennial.

Vendor Prices

Often sour things can be made infinitely better with a sprinkle of sweet (i.e. PF Chang’s Sweet & Sour Chicken). In this case, we are referring to acquiring more bang for your buck during your scheduled off-season wedding. Between the months of January through April, when dismal weather is more norm, often vendors offer discounts. This enables all your Pinterest wedding dreams to become more attainable (P.S. weddings booked during the work week rather than on weekends may also be eligible for discounted pricing throughout the year)! Not only this, but you will likely receive more attentive service from vendors during colder months of the year. This is polar to other times of the year, when the high volume of events and weddings occurring cause vendors to have slower response times.

As you have read, there are benefits of scheduling your wedding during different times of the year. Regardless of when your ceremony takes place, know that your wedding day will be lovely and fondly reminisced. So, congratulations on your upcoming celebration!
