Practical Items Every Bride Should Have On Her Wedding Day

Your wedding day is a big deal.

Now I know this isn’t groundbreaking news, but the day you get married may very well be one of the biggest and busiest days of your life. Though you’ve prepped day and night for this event, even the most prepared brides can run into a sticky situation or two on their wedding day.

Luckily, there are a few of us who’ve been there before, and we know a thing or two about wedding stress. I’ve rounded up a list of practical items every bride should have on hand that will help your beautiful day flow as smoothly as possible.

Travel Size Hairspray

You’ve spent a lot of time and energy making sure your hair and makeup look perfect, but it’s normal for things to get a little messy during the day. Pack a can of hairspray and a few bobby pins in case you need to freshen things up in the hair department. And while we’re on the topic of beauty, it’s never a bad idea to throw a tube of lipstick or concealer into your bridal bag as well.

Flats/Comfy Shoes

Shoes are a seemingly small detail, but they can make a big difference on your wedding day. The heels are perfect for pictures, but when you’re standing in a reception line or ready to have fun on the dance floor, flats are the more ideal choice. Here’s the good news though: you don’t have to pick one or the other. Bring both! When your feet need a break, you can swap out the sparkly pumps for something a little more comfortable and no one will ever know the difference.

Stain Remover Pen

Every bride should be able to enjoy the food and drinks at her wedding. It’s your celebration, of course!  Don’t stress about getting food on your perfect outfit, but if it does happen, your day doesn’t have to be ruined. Add a stain remover pen to your bag and swipe a few times over any spills on your clothes. But what about any potential stains on your wedding dress? Well, a few wedding experts suggest bringing chalk or baby powder to cover up any messes and keep your dress looking crisp and beautiful.

A Small Snack/Water Bottle

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, food might be the last thing on your mind. But skipping a meal or two doesn’t usually make for a happy bride. If a full course meal doesn’t sound appetizing, don’t be afraid to supply your own refreshments. Bring a small snack like a granola bar and a bottle of water for those moments when you need a little extra energy.

Tissues

The day you marry the love of your life is undoubtedly an emotional day. That’s how it should be! Those special, emotion-filled moments with your person are ones that you will never forget. They absolutely shouldn’t be interrupted with worries about smudged mascara. Here’s a tip: Pack the tissues, but assign them to your mom or maid of honor to slide to you at the right moment.
