Wedding Week Beauty Routine
Your big day is only a week away and your last minute checklist seems to be over a mile long. Does this sound familiar? Are you staring at your list wondering where to start and trying to remind yourself that this day is really about you and your man? Well, take my advice and start checking things off your list by creating your wedding week beauty routine!
At about a week before your wedding (and lets face it, maybe even much sooner) you may reach a point where the details of your wedding day have absolutely consumed your life. Your dreams may even revolve around colors, place settings or the guest list. Your wedding week beauty routine is one area you will want to make time for and at a week out, you get the green light to enter into the relaxation phase.
With appointments to make and schedules to keep, I recommend making everything more fun by inviting your special maid of honor. This is the time to book that much needed pedicure and manicure. Those nails will be on full display as you show off your wedding ring so don't skip this step. Then, I can't recommend getting a professional facial enough. Sure, this step could be replaced with your go to cleanser and mask and that is perfectly acceptable. However, being pampered takes on a whole new form when you enter the spa instead of fighting for the best lighting around your bathroom vanity. Just make sure you don't have any allergies and if you have very sensitive skin, maybe sticking to what you know and trust is the better way to go.
Finally, it is time to schedule your trial run for hair and make-up. This makes everything real. By scheduling a trial run, you will be able to put it all to the test before actually walking down the aisle. I recommend being open and honest. Don't hold back during this appointment because it is your time to make changes. Then, after you approve the look, take photos! Make sure you like how it all looks not just looking in a mirror but from a photo. Luckily, you can relay any changes to your team on your actual wedding day which makes for smooth sailing.
One caution going into your wedding week beauty routine however is to avoid anything with a red flag. These items include spray tans, drastic hair dye and any products that may cause adverse reactions. Make sure to communicate with your beauty team (aka anyone working with you for your beauty routine). They are there for you and want you to look your very best for your wedding day! The bonus about all these appointments too is you have the chance to just enjoy the moment and take care of yourself!
