5 Recommendations for your Wedding Menu

Choosing a menu for your wedding day can be difficult. There is no doubt that while your guests are definitely there for the bride and groom, by the time you finish your vows it is likely they are thinking about the food. There are hours during the day were your guests are going to assume there will be more food as opposed to "light refreshments." So, what you serve at your wedding reception can be a big deal. Make sure to avoid confusion for your guests and clarify on their invitations and watch out for key meal hours if you are working with a smaller budget.

Once that you have set a time and decided your scale, it is time to choose your food! I love this part. The rules essentially go out the window on your wedding day because your options are endless. You could choose your favorite foods and sail through the night eating the most delicious comfort food or you could have a theme with everything revolving around it. Here are my recommendations:

Have at least a few finger food options.

These are quick and easy to put on your plate as well as maintain a conversation while putting food in your belly.

Remember that in a buffet line, people will get a "little of everything."

If you have your guests serving themselves, you are probably going to need more food. Most people have different definitions of "a little" and there is always the chance they heard at least one thing was delicious!

Don't forget your fruits and veggies.

Unless it really doesn't go with your theme, I recommend having fruit and veggies. These make for easy and delicious fillers that won't break the bank!

Choose what you like but not at the expense of your wallet.

Chances are pretty good that you may not even get to eat the food you order on your wedding day. You may sneak a few bites or have an awesome caterer that packs you a few things to go but even though you absolutely love Prime Rib, it may not be the best choice to feed your wedding day army.

Pick what you want.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to what you want. Waffles? Do it! Pizza? Yum! There is no right or wrong menu so have fun with it! Everyone at your wedding will just be thrilled to celebrate such a special day with the bride and groom!
