Carolyn + Jarrett Wedding | Brigham City LDS Wedding in Bear River, Utah
Carolyn and Jarrett’s wedding was a beautiful day to celebrate their fun love story! They were set up by a mutual friend at a pizza making party, but they both felt awkward and nothing came from the evening. Cue COVID, and suddenly they both had some extra time in their schedules rather than sports and music practices! Jarrett and Carolyn matched on Mutual, and their confidence and flirting took the place of any previous insecurities about their relationship status. Fast forward a little ways into their relationship to their adventure floating the river (a cleverly disguised excuse for Jarrett to hold her hand so they could “form a chain” while they floated down) where they had their first kiss and said “I love you” in Danish! So cute, right?
They were on their way to eat dinner with Jarett’s parents when he suddenly pulled a U-turn and drove to a park where they had some history together. Carolyn was confused and asked if they forgot something; Jarrett’s reply was, “Yes, we forgot to do something.” The lightbulb went on over her head, and Carolyn couldn’t stop smiling for a solid 30 minutes after he showed her to a special bench surrounded by candles where Jarrett surprised her with a cozy quilt, his guitar, and a song he had written just for her! Then he knelt in the freezing February snow and proposed.
When asked what traits made her fall for Jarrett, Carolyn will tell you that she loves “the way he thinks deeply and cares just as deeply about others.” Jarrett says he would describe their relationship as “perfect” and “carefree, yet deep and sensitive.” What more could you ask for in a life partner? I’m telling you, this couple was such a pleasure to work with! After our session together for their engagement photos, Carolyn sent me the sweetest message:
“I just want to thank you again for such a fun evening last night! It was such a pleasure to meet you and I can’t wait to work with you again. :) Jarrett turned to me in the car last night and said “I’ve been excited for the food and to marry you, but that made me feel like I might actually enjoy the whole day.”
I enjoyed the whole day, or more like the whole weekend, with Carolyn and Jarrett, too! Their wedding weekend began with a backyard reception two days before their actual wedding day. The venue was the same gorgeous floral setting where Carolyn’s mom had her own wedding reception 27 years previous! I thought that was such a unique and special fact. Two days later was the wedding at the Brigham City Temple and then the Lavender House in Bear River city nearby.
Some of the most mentioned details were the wearable florals – talk about gorgeous details! So many friends and family came to support the happy couple, resulting in a reception full of dancing, mingling, and the cutest bouquet toss I’ve ever seen. Instead of tossing her bouquet to the group of single ladies, Carolyn was actually holding a bouquet of single stemmed, individually ribboned roses that rained down on the group when she tossed them! Each girl was able to take home her own rose and no one was singled out. I’ve never seen a bouquet toss quite like this one, and I doubt I’ll ever forget it. When the couple left for their honeymoon, the sweetest and most fun bubble exit sent them off in style!
Carolyn and Jarrett – thank you for including me in your extremely special day! It was truly memorable and unique, just like the two of you.
