Courtney + Rod | NYE Wedding
This Western-Persian New Year's Eve wedding at Twenty and Creek in Sandy, UT, was an absolute blast.
The bride and groom, Courtney and Rod, are a Tinder success story. They met on the app while Rod was passing through Utah on a road trip. The two of them obviously hit it off and started dating regularly. Rod loves pizza, so most of their dates were spent exploring new pizza places. Courtney, on the other hand, loves walking, so their dates also included walking three miles each way to get to dinner!
Courtney is a product designer, and Rod is finishing his fellowship to be a specialized cardiologist. Because his family is from Iran, the couple added a lot of Persian elements to the wedding day, including a traditional Sofreh Aghd ceremony.
Rod and Courtney chose to celebrate their NYE wedding at a brand new wedding venue in Salt Lake County, Twenty and Creek. Nestled in the foothills of the stunning Utah mountains, Twenty and Creek is modern, fresh, and classic enough to be the perfect backdrop for any wedding event. Their grounds are also gorgeous, and we had the perfect dusting of snow during our epic nighttime portraits.
One thing that I love about NYE weddings is that they are full of food, dancing, and celebrating not only the bride and groom but the new year! Friends and family came from over 15 states and multiple countries to celebrate with Courtney and Rod. They had their rehearsal dinner the night before at the Country Club in Salt Lake City, where hilarious speeches were given and impromptu Persian dancing was enjoyed by all.
On their wedding day, the couple enjoyed traditional Iranian food, a late-night pizza food truck (for Rod, of course), signature drinks, and a countdown to the new year with indoor sparklers, party hats, and lots and lots of dancing.
Rod and Courtney are a perfect match. Anyone who sees them can tell how obviously in love they are. Courtney didn’t stop smiling the entire day! After the wedding, they honeymooned in Singapore, Malaysia, and Bali, and when they get home, they are excited to purchase a home together and start a family.
