Shaina + Micah Anniversary Session
This beautiful couple is Shania and Micah! I am so excited to share this session we took on a chilly day this last December.
Shania and I met in college, and were actually roommates for a few years! She was my test subject for way too many photo assignments while I was still in my program. I was SO honored when she asked me to photograph her and Micah’s wedding. They got married in South Carolina and had a reception at the cutest country estate. It was my first experience with southern humidity and one of my first wedding photography experiences! It was a really magical point in my career and I’m so glad this sweet couple trusted me so much.
Fast forward a few years, and a family wedding brought them out to Utah in the middle of winter! Of course, I had to take just a little bit of their time to photograph them once again.
We braved the snow and freezing temperatures to capture their mid-day anniversary shoot. I love winter shots in the canyons, but they are definitely some of the toughest on my clients. But Shania and Micah were absolute troopers, trekking through knee-high snow with hand warmers stuffed everywhere while I got some beautiful shots.
I love anniversary sessions like this because they’re a great way to catch up with old friends or former clients about what is going on in their lives. During our shoot, Micah told me all about his fancy new job in construction management, and Shania (a newly minted Master’s degree holder!) chatted with me about her dream of pursuing health coaching. These two are crazy motivated and smart, and I’m honored to call them my friends!
